Job summary

Briarpatch Youth Services, Inc. in Fitchburg, WI is seeking a part-time overnight advocate to support youth in our temporary shelter. The role requires night hours (11:00pm–9:00am) and includes monitoring, documentation, meals assistance, and safety duties.

You will work within a team to ensure a safe, supportive environment for youth who are homeless or runaway, with responsibilities including medication administration, coordination with daytime staff, and ongoing education participation.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience working or volunteering with teens.
• Experience in congregate care overnight settings preferred.
• Ability to work in a collaborative team setting.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the daily activities of youth in the shelter.
• Records documentation of client services per state licensing rules and agency standards.
• Helps youth with meals (breakfast) and daily chores.
• Maintains shelter policies and a safe environment.
• Completes half-hour night visual checks.
• Administers morning medications as needed.
• Supports daytime staff with school departures and transportation.
• Participates in continuing education and monthly shelter staff meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
