Job summary

CorrHealth seeks an LPN/LVN to support the Health Care Unit in a correctional facility. The role requires assisting in assessment, planning, and delivery of inmate care under RN supervision.

You will administer medications, perform EKGs, and support evaluations and procedures as needed. Candidates must have an accredited LPN/LVN program graduate status, current licensure, CPR/BLS certification, and a current TB test.

Qualifications

• Must graduate from an accredited LPN/LVN program.
• Must maintain current licensure as an LPN/LVN in the state of employment.
• CPR/BLS certification must be current.
• TB test must be current (taken within one year).
• Willingness to assist coworkers and work overtime if required; may act as a resource to other coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of a Registered Nurse, assist in the assessment of inmates’ physical, psychological, and social dimensions.
• Assist in planning and implementing individual treatment programs with RNs and other staff.
• Administer medications using proper techniques (including IV therapy when certified).
• Assist in minor medical procedures and evaluations as necessary.
• Obtain body fluid specimens and perform EKGs as directed.
• Maintain documentation of controlled substances and medical equipment.
• Triaging and addressing healthcare requests.
• Adhere to HIPAA and maintain confidentiality of health records.
