Job summary

CorrHealth is seeking a Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse to assist in inmate care within a correctional health unit. Under RN supervision, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care, and help with inmate teaching and activities.

Responsibilities include medication administration, basic procedures, triage, and documentation. A current LPN/LVN license and CPR/BLS are required, with compliance to HIPAA and facility policies.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited LPN/LVN program.
• Current licensure as an LPN/LVN in the state of employment.
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• Experience in correctional or clinical nursing settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist under RN supervision in assessment of inmates' physical, psychological, and social needs.
• Assist in planning and implementing individual treatment plans with RNs and staff.
• Administer medications per procedures, including IV therapy when certified.
• Support providers in evaluations, procedures, and minor surgeries using SOAP notes.
• Obtain specimens and perform EKGs; maintain documentation of substances and equipment.
• Triaging and addressing healthcare requests and safety considerations.
