Job summary

CorrHealth seeks a Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse to support inmate care within a correctional health unit. Under RN supervision, the nurse will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care and inmate education.

Responsibilities include assisting with assessments, treatment planning, medication administration (including IV therapy when certified), and triage of healthcare requests. Requires LPN/LVN graduate, active licensure, CPR/BLS, and TB test within one year.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited LPN/LVN program.
• Maintain current licensure as an LPN/LVN in the state of employment.
• Must have CPR/BLS certification.
• Must have current TB test (taken within one year).
• Must adhere to facility policies and HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in assessment of inmates under RN supervision.
• Plan and implement individual treatment programs with care and teaching.
• Administer medications by approved routes and IV therapy where certified.
• Assist with evaluations, procedures, and minor surgery as needed.
• Perform EKGs and collect body fluid specimens.
• Maintain documentation of controlled substances and equipment.
• Triaging and responding to healthcare requests.
