Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required, or 1–3 years of related experience.
• Preferred: Sanitation/Safe Food Handling Certification (can be earned while employed).
• Preferred: Prior institutional and/or healthcare service experience.

Responsibilities

• Follows recipes and prepares meals according to menus meeting residents' nutritional needs.
• Prepares palatable, attractive, nutritionally adequate meals in required quantities.
• Leads kitchen staff in food preparation, assembling trays, cleaning, and storage of supplies and equipment.
• Maintains a clean food service work area during food preparation and service.
• Handles, stores, and disposes of food according to procedures and state/federal regulations.
