Job summary

Arlington Properties in Mobile, AL seeks a Courtesy Officer to help maintain a welcoming, safe environment at our multifamily community. This part-time role involves patrolling grounds, responding to non-emergency needs, and de-escalating situations with professionalism.

You’ll work closely with property management and local law enforcement, enjoy rent discounts, flexible scheduling, and a supportive team. A high school diploma and a background in law enforcement or military are preferred.

Qualifications

• Active or retired law enforcement officer or military background.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain calm and professionalism in all situations.
• Detail-oriented with excellent observational skills.
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work independently and follow company policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible presence by walking the grounds daily.
• Respond to noise complaints and de-escalate situations professionally.
• Assist residents with lockouts and other non-emergency needs.
• Monitor common areas like pools, laundry rooms, and fitness facilities.
• Check lighting and report maintenance needs to the management team.
• Observe and report vandalism, suspicious activity, or vehicle violations.
• Support overall community safety through routine patrols.
• Contact local law enforcement when appropriate, in accordance with policy.
