Job summary

LifeWise Academy in Rutherford, TN is seeking a part-time CDL bus driver to provide safe transportation for public school students to and from the LifeWise site. The ideal candidate is responsible, punctual, and maintains a clean driving record.

Responsibilities include transporting students, obeying traffic laws, maintaining bus safety and cleanliness, and performing regular inspections. Training is required; volunteering in the LifeWise classroom may be arranged with the director.

Qualifications

• Must hold CDL with passenger vehicle endorsement (P); school bus endorsement preferred.
• Continuous licensure for past three years is required.
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations in the last five years.
• Background check through LifeWise Academy is required.
• Drug and/or alcohol testing is required (pre-employment, random, post-accidents).
• Annual physician's statement may be required for medical conditions.

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from LifeWise site.
• Obey traffic laws and maintain safety standards.
• Keep bus clean and mechanically safe; perform regular inspections.
• Refuel the vehicle as needed and monitor safety of passengers.
• Create a safe environment; enforce safety rules; assist students entering/exiting.
• Complete LifeWise Academy training; may volunteer in LifeWise classroom with director approval.
