Job summary

LifeWise Academy Inc. in Memphis, TN is seeking a LifeWise CDL bus driver to provide safe and reliable transportation for public school students to and from the LifeWise site during school hours.

The ideal candidate will hold a valid CDL with passenger vehicle endorsement (P), maintain a clean driving record, and pass background checks and FMCSA Clearinghouse verification. This is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt role focused on safety and dependability.

Qualifications

• CDL license required with passenger vehicle endorsement (P)
• School bus (S) endorsement preferred
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or citations in last 5 years
• Background check and FMCSA Clearinghouse verification required
• Drug and/or alcohol testing conducted as required
• Annual documentation for drivers over 75 (CDL and P endorsement)

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site
• Obey traffic laws
• Maintain the cleanliness and mechanical safety of the bus
• Perform regular inspections of the bus
• Refuel the vehicle as needed
• Create and maintain a safe environment for children
• Enforce safety rules for students
• Assist students with entering or exiting the vehicle as needed
• Demonstrate a calm and caring demeanor
• Be aware of which students need help or are misbehaving
• Complete training required by LifeWise Academy
• Volunteer in the LifeWise classroom if agreed upon with the director
