Job summary

Del Mar College is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach Baking & Pastry courses within the Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Department. Classes may be online, on campus, or dual-credit, at varying times and locations to meet institutional needs.

Candidates should have an Associate’s degree in Baking & Pastry, at least three years of baking experience, and current ServSafe Manager or Texas Certified Food Manager certification; teaching experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate ability to teach baking and pastry courses.
• Ability to adapt instruction to online and on-site formats.
• Demonstrate skill in engaging students from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Make continuous efforts to advance the quality of instruction.
• Develop and use a variety of teaching methods and materials to assist students who have differing educational and experiential backgrounds in meeting the course outcomes.
• Maintain appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community.
• Teach lecture and laboratory courses as assigned.
