Job summary

Fastenal Co. is seeking a Part-time Sales Associate at our Gulfport, MS branch. The role focuses on B2B sales, consultative customer service, and developing relationships with leads and referrals.

You will respond to service needs, coordinate resources, and drive local sales calls in the Gulfport area. Ideal applicants are motivated, possess strong communication and math skills, and can lift and move items up to 75 lbs.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet driving record requirements to use a company vehicle
• Pursuing or holding a degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations, Management or related field OR equivalent customer service/industry experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proficient computer skills
• Strong sales aptitude and customer-service orientation
• Motivated, self-directed and customer service oriented
• Strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
• Strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
• Strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills
• Demonstrate core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork
• Lift, slide, carry and lower packages weighing 25lbs-50lbs up to 75lbs
• Pass the required drug screen (US, Puerto Rico and Guam)

Responsibilities

• Supporting business to business (B2B) sales and customer service activities
• Providing value through a consultative sales approach
• Developing new and growing existing relationships from leads, referrals and prospecting
• Coordinating resources to respond to customer service needs
• Performing local sales calls driving a company vehicle to customer sites
• Performing other duties as needed to ensure branch success
