Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Instruct and supervise audiology clinical activities for undergraduates.
  • Serve as a clinical preceptor for Au.D. students during practicum.
  • Provide and coordinate audiological testing and evaluation services.
  • Evaluate, fit, and dispense hearing aids and assistive devices as needed.
  • Counsel patients and families regarding results and care plans.
  • Document clinical interactions and student progress in charts.
  • Maintain organized, safe, and efficient work areas.
  • Complete continuing education to maintain Alabama licensure.
  • Attend program meetings and participate in community outreach.

Auburn University at Montgomery ( AUM ) is accepting applications for a part time Audiologist.

Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical instruction and supervision of the audiology clinical activities for undergraduate students acquiring observation and practicum experience, and act as a clinical preceptor for doctoral students in the Auburn Au.D. program who are acquiring practicum experience in the Auburn Montgomery clinic.
  • Provide and coordinate direct and comprehensive audiological testing and evaluation services to patients; determine need for and administer appropriate tests and measures, correctly assess test results, plan and carry out habilitative/rehabilitative care of patients as needed.
  • Evaluate, fit, program, and dispense state of the art hearing aids and amplification systems appropriately to patient candidates, performing routine maintenance and minor repairs of hearing aids and assistive listening devices.
  • Counsel patients and their families regarding evaluation results and plan of care.
  • Document all clinical patient interactions, including evaluation, treatment and consultation recommendations and ensure that these reports are signed and placed appropriately in patient charts.
  • Document student goals and assessments of their skills.
  • Ensure work areas are organized and present a safe, accessible, and efficient environment for patients, their family members and employees.
  • Complete necessary continuing education activity to maintain an Alabama license to practice audiology.
  • Attend required program meetings.
  • Participate in/organize community education and outreach.
Qualifications

Doctorate of audiology degree and experience equivalent to three years of employment in audiology or related work. Certificate of Clinical Competence is required.
