Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with day-to-day store activities, supervise associates, and maintain a safe, clean, and organized sales floor and stockrooms.

This role emphasizes strong communication, problem solving, and delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced retail environment. Part-time schedule with opportunities for training and advancement, plus a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks common in retail roles
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process all corporate directives and store communications
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling
• Maintain a well-stocked and organized store and stockroom
• Protect and secure all company assets including store cash
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures and lead by example
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff
