Job summary

Dollar Tree, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in Escalon, CA. The role includes opening/closing procedures, supervising associates, and helping manage merchandising and inventory while maintaining a safe, friendly shopping environment.

Preferred candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent and prior retail management experience; strong communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks regularly.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize, transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, record-keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash handling), and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked store and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean including bathrooms, floors, and trash removal.
• Other duties as assigned.
