Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in a fast-paced retail environment. You will assist with day-to-day activities, help customers, and ensure merchandise is organized from delivery to floor.

The role requires strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on teamwork and maintaining store standards. Part-time position with opportunities for growth and leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, pushing, and pulling.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Excellent customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays and ensure store cleanliness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and associates.
