Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily functions, organize merchandise, maintain displays, and participate in opening and closing procedures.

The role requires strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills. You\'ll help train Store Associates, ensure safety and policy adherence, and contribute to a positive, productive store environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives related to store activities
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for storefronts
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash register deposits) and loss prevention
• Maintain store areas to company standards, including a well-stocked sales floor and stocked stockroom
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff
• Maintain cleanliness of the store including bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall neatness
• Other duties as assigned
