Job summary

Hot Topic, Inc. is seeking a Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 1 who loves music and pop culture to help lead our store crew in Springfield, MO. You’ll support the leadership team, train new recruits, and help hit sales targets while delivering an awesome customer experience.

Use your fandom knowledge to boost add-on sales, manage daily operations, and communicate trends to HQ. You’ll open/close the store, supervise the floor, and foster a collaborative, energetic team environment.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of retail store experience.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide an amazing shopping experience that will encourage customers to return, driven by product knowledge and customer service.
• Step in and provide leadership on the sales floor when the Manager is away.
• Open and close the store as needed to support daily operations.
• Operate the register, process transactions, and drive add‑on sales with in‑store programs like BOPIS and curbside pickup.
• Understand the store's sales plan and KPI goals (UPT, ADT).
• Assist with planogram changes including store map, wall, fixtures, and merchandising mix.
• Communicate fashion and music trend information to management and HQ partners.
• Support loss prevention and ensure proper conduct to prevent theft.
• Help keep the stock room organized and the store tidy.
• Develop and retain a collaborative, passionate team to run the store.
• Any other activities as assigned by the Store Leader.
