Job summary

Family of Kidz is seeking a 1:1 Aide - ASL Behavior Technician for a school-based role in New Rochelle, NY. The position requires fluency in American Sign Language and offers part-time hours ranging from 25 to 32 per week, following the school district calendar.

You will work closely with teachers, TAs, and specialists to support students with special needs during daytime hours. Compensation is $25-$29 per hour, with benefits including sick leave, EAP, referral program, and professional

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months working with children or adolescents with special needs in a supervised setting.
• Must be fluent in ASL (American Sign Language).
• High School Diploma required.
• Reliable transportation required.
• Undergraduate program in psychology, healthcare, human services, education or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to goals, needs and requests of students and supervisors, on an individualized basis, and in a professional manner.
• Work closely with school personnel (classroom teachers, TAs, school psychologist, social worker, behavior consultant, related service provider) to support student success in the classroom.
• Collaborate with a behavior consultant or clinical supervisor to provide academic, behavioral, and social/emotional support to students with special needs.
• Assist with classroom assignments under the direction of the classroom teacher.
• Implement behavior support plans or skill acquisition programs (data collection, progress reporting, CPI training and implementation).
• Help with daily living tasks, such as mobility, hygiene, and transitions.
• Escort the student to different locations (bathroom, cafeteria, therapy sessions).
• Maintain confidentiality of information about students per State and Federal regulations.
• Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Demonstrate the company core values.
