Job summary

Portland Center Stage is hiring an Operations Assistant to join the on-site Operations team. You will help maintain, improve, and secure The Armory, perform cleaning, basic repairs, and assist with event setups, with a flexible 20-hour weekly schedule.

The role emphasizes teamwork, strong communication, equity, and guest relations, with occasional heavier physical tasks and evening/weekend shifts as events require.

Qualifications

• Experience or interest in building maintenance and custodial work.
• Commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and access.
• Passion for the arts, particularly theater, is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Daily completion of cleaning tasks for bathrooms, offices, theaters, and lobbies.
• Maintain and improve building facilities; handle setup for events.
• Be on-site facilities staff when the building is open; oversee lobby flow.
• Assist with security and safety during events and productions.
• Engage with patrons during open hours and uphold guidelines.
• Learn and follow PCS IDEA Community Guidelines.
