Job summary

Olney Theatre Center is seeking a dependable Facilities Assistant to support weekend maintenance, cleanliness, safety, and operation of our campus and performance facilities. This part‑time role focuses on keeping spaces ready for staff, artists, audiences, and community members, with weekend availability including evenings.

Qualified candidates will perform basic repairs and maintenance, assist with event preparation, and help ensure a welcoming, safe environment.

Qualifications

• Previous facilities experience is helpful but not required.
• Must be able to perform physical work and lift items safely.
• Capable of lifting up to about 50 pounds.
• Strong attention to detail and safety.
• Basic knowledge of building maintenance tasks.
• Experience in theatre or similar environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Prepare facilities for performances, rehearsals, events, and rentals.
• Monitor safety and maintenance concerns and report issues.
• Assist with deliveries, moving materials, and supplies.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and storage areas.
• Follow safety procedures and organizational policies.
• Support during evenings and weekend performances or events.
• Perform other facilities‑related duties as assigned.
