Job summary

Texas Children’s Hospital West Campus is seeking a part-time Ambulatory Services Rep II for the Outpatient Occupational Therapy Center. You will be the first contact for patients, providers, and staff accessing ambulatory clinics, and may orient patients to virtual visits.

A respiratory fit test requirement is noted for safety compliance. Responsibilities include admissions, patient registration, scheduling coordination, and communication of delays.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years in customer service or 2 years clerical/medical office/healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Admissions: Check-In/Welcome desk, PARs, Registration, Past Pending.
• Performs patient registration procedures per department process.
• May orient patients to the virtual visit process and ensure access to necessary technology.
• Ensure all required patient forms are provided and completed for the visit.
• Communicate with patients, staff, and providers about arrivals, delays, and clinic processes.
• Notify staff of changes or discrepancies in scheduled appointments.
• Refer patients with inadequate funding to the financial counselor.
• Update appointment statuses daily (arrived, cancelled, no-show, rescheduled).
• Maintain organized referrals filing and communicate missed appointments to PCP.
• Review referrals with the provider of the day and coordinate scheduling.
• Assist licensed staff with non-financial inpatient admission tasks as needed.
• May perform closing procedures (e.g., deposits, reconciliations).
• Handle Insurance Authorization, Cash deposits, Charge entry, Billing, and Reconciliation.
• Provide customer service and effective communication.
• Manage Flowmaster and Room assignments.
