Job summary

Read Better Be Better is seeking a part-time After-School Literacy Program Coach to support elementary learners at designated schools in the Avondale School District, Phoenix, AZ.

You'll guide Readers and Leaders through structured literacy activities, participate in weekly coordinator check-ins, and attend paid training. The role emphasizes a safe, engaging environment and reliable attendance for 5–10 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Preferred candidates enrolled in a relevant degree program or have experience working with children in a school setting.
• Classroom management skills and a patient personality are key components.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the literacy program and track curriculum progress.
• Attend paid training and onboarding before starting.
• Lead 4th–5th grade Leaders and Kindergarten/1st Readers in RBBB curriculum.
• Meet weekly with the Program Coordinator to share progress.
• Participate in professional development and attend end-of-semester graduation.
