Job summary

Read Better Be Better is seeking part-time After-School Literacy Program Coaches to guide a cohort of young Readers and Youth Leaders in our reading program. The role offers flexible hours and paid training in a dynamic after-school setting.

Coaches train the 4th/5th grade “Leaders” and the 2nd/3rd grade “Readers” in our curriculum to build reading confidence, foster a safe learning environment, and support curriculum progress.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Preferred candidates are enrolled in a relevant degree program or have experience working with children in a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the literacy program and support curriculum progress.
• Promote a safe and healthy learning environment.
• Attend essential paid training and onboarding prior to starting.
• Meet weekly with Program Coordinator to share successes and address concerns.
• Participate in professional development workshops during the semester.
• Program ends with a graduation event at the assigned school.
• Program is semester‑based and coaches are encouraged to return each term.
