Job summary

Read Better Be Better seeks an After-School Literacy Program Coach to deliver the on-site literacy program in a school setting. The role will oversee up to 32 students and may support K-1 and 2-3 program tracks, working with student Leaders and school staff to ensure program success.

The position is part-time, with 5-10 hours per week during the school year, and offers merit-based raises, professional development, and dental/vision benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (RBBB offers reimbursements for application and fingerprint service fees).
• Enrollment in relevant degree program preferred (i.e., teaching, educational studies, youth & early childhood development, social justice, social work, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Attend RBBB Orientation and Program Coach Training prior to placement at a program site.
• Prepare program materials and ensure they are ready for student arrival time.
• Take class attendance and facilitate activities per curriculum.
• Encourage student participation to enhance experiences.
• Follow all RBBB procedures and program structure.
• Wrap up sessions and dismiss students per school procedures.
• Return the site to order and store materials for next use.
• Train and monitor student Leaders as necessary.
• Maintain communication with school staff to optimize outcomes.
• Communicate program successes and challenges to Program Coordinator.
• Attend weekly offsite Coach meetings.
• Participate in all-team meetings at RBBB HQ each semester.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
