Job summary

Read Better Be Better is seeking part-time After-School Literacy Program Coaches to facilitate our reading program in the Roosevelt School District, Phoenix, AZ. You will mentor a cohort of Readers and Leaders at an elementary/ middle-school setting.

The role offers 5–10 hours per week with a pay rate of $18 per hour, plus training and professional development opportunities. You will collaborate with the Program Coordinator to ensure curriculum progress and a safe learning environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Preferred candidates are enrolled in a relevant degree program or have experience working with children in a school setting.
• Classroom management skills and a patient personality are key components we look for in our Program Coaches.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the literacy program and guide a cohort of Readers and Leaders.
• Ensure curriculum progress and a safe, healthy learning environment.
• Attend weekly meeting with Program Coordinator and participate in professional development workshops.
• Participate in paid training and onboarding prior to starting at the assigned school.
• Program ends with a graduation event at the assigned site.
