Job summary

The Villages Daily Sun is seeking a part-time floater who will support classified advertising by phone, email, fax or in person and assist circulation with subscriber needs at Lake Sumter Landing. This on-site role emphasizes friendly, proactive customer service.

Responsibilities include inputting orders, quoting ad costs, processing payments, renewals, and upselling add-ons while maintaining accurate records and providing excellent service to advertisers and readers alike.

Qualifications

• One year of post high school education or six months of related experience or equivalent.
• Experience in telemarketing or a customer care center preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; 35 wpm typing.
• Able to operate a cash register and multi-line phone system.
• Strong attention to detail and adaptability to changes.

Responsibilities

• Input classified orders into the computer system accurately.
• Talk with customers to determine ad wording, classification and dates.
• Calculate total advertising costs and assign box numbers.
• Collect payments and issue receipts; renewals and cancellations as needed.
• Upsell with attention getters, borders, logos and new today ads.
• Keep records of transactions and assist with promotions.
• Provide circulation support including subscriber data changes.
• Deliver excellent customer service by phone and in person.
