Job summary

The Villages Daily Sun seeks a Part Time, On Site Floater to support classified advertising and circulation in Lake Sumter Landing. You will input orders, talk with customers about wording and publication dates, calculate costs, and handle payments, while delivering excellent service.

In circulation duties, you will update subscriber records, process redelivery requests, and answer service questions, aiming for timely and accurate resolution while maintaining a friendly demeanor.

Qualifications

• One year of post high school education, or six months of related experience and/or training, or equivalent.
• Experience in telemarketing or a customer care center is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office. Type thirty-five (35) wpm.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Excel to access, create or modify spreadsheets.
• Operate a cash register efficiently & accurately while receiving payments.
• Operate a multi-line telephone system.
• Demonstrate great attention to detail and accuracy.
• Must adapt well to change in policies, reorganization, and competing job demands.

Responsibilities

Job description

Within the spirit of “Making People’s Dreams Come True”, this position is responsible for functioning as a floater between classified advertising where the employee sells classified advertising for newspaper by telephone, email, fax or in person and circulation where the employee assists customers with circulation related needs. These duties are accomplished while delivering Raving Fans customer service to both internal and external customers.

Part Time, On Site Position

Location: Lake Sumter Landing

Classified Advertising Responsibilities:

• Input classified orders correctly into computer system.
• Talk to customers to determine wording, classification, and dates of publication of classified advertisement.
• Calculate total advertising cost for customers.
• Assign box numbers for confidential advertisements.

Circulation Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent customer service over the telephone and in person by evaluating and addressing customer complaints and service requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Enter changes and corrections in names and addresses of subscribers, carriers, and dealers into the circulation system.
• Enter requests for redelivery, delivery interruption, cancellations, and other services into the circulation system.
• Follow up with customers to ensure redelivery, restarts, starts, and other services were provided satisfactorily.
• Process telephone, in person, and mail subscriptions; process cash or credit payments and when necessary, forward receipts to customers.
• Review subscription date files and send renewal letters to solicit expiring subscriptions.
• Address questions regarding the services The Villages Daily Sun offers.
• All other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements:

• One (1) years of post high school education; or six (6) months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in telemarketing or a customer care center is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office. Type thirty-five (35) wpm.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Excel to access, create or modify new or existing spread sheets.
• Operate a cash register efficiently & accurately while receiving cash, credit card or check payments.
