Job summary

MercyOne Trinity Health in Des Moines is seeking a part-time Acute Care RN to provide safe, effective care for patients with acute medical and surgical conditions. You will supervise LPNs and PCAs and collaborate with physicians and families.

The role requires a nursing license, BLS, and strong assessment and discharge planning skills; experience with telemetry and cardiac monitoring is valued.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing is required.
• BSN is preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license is required (Illinois license if working in IL).
• BLS required by American Heart Association.
• ACLS required only if telemetry monitoring capabilities exist.
• Mandatory Reporter training within 3 months of hire.
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Conducts initial assessments within 30 minutes of arrival.
• Develops outcome-based care plans with patient problems and goals.
• Implements and coordinates care with team and physicians.
• Discharges planning and patient education.
• Communicates with physicians and interdisciplinary team.
