Job summary

MercyOne Trinity Health in West Des Moines, IA seeks an Acute Care RN for a 12-hour night shift on a full-time basis. Provides care for acute medical and surgical patients, including post-operative, telemetry, and neurologic cases, guiding LPNs and assistants.

You will perform initial assessments, develop outcome-based care plans, coordinate discharge, and ensure medication safety while collaborating with physicians and the care team.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required; BSN preferred; current Iowa RN license; BLS required; ACLS required if telemetry monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Conduct an initial assessment within 30 minutes of admissions.
• Develop and update outcome-based care plans for patients.
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers and other disciplines on care plans.
• Ensure medication safety following the 5 Rights and verify orders.
• Complete documentation thoroughly and communicate patient progress during shifts.
• Manage telemetry and cardiac monitoring as applicable and respond to arrhythmias.

Education

Associate degree in nursing

BSN preferred

Current Iowa RN license

BLS

ACLS required if telemetry
