Job summary

The Austin Stone Community Church is seeking an Accounts Payable Associate to support the Ministry Operations team. The part-time role handles expense reimbursement, accounts payable, and related banking updates, reporting to the Accounting Manager.

Responsibilities include vendor setup, approvals, 1099 handling, weekly payments, and producing staff spending reports. Collaboration with staff and finance is essential, along with participation in church events when possible.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in business administration, accounting, or finance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the accounts payable system, including vendor setup, expense approval, and 1099 setup for contract workers.
• Execute expense reimbursements, wire/ACH transfers, updating the GL, and check processing.
• Process accounts payable weekly using accounting and bank software.
• Update bank records, verify checks, research unfamiliar payments, and coordinate with the bank.
• Collaborate with accounting and finance to review reimbursements and vendor payments.
• Communicate clearly with staff and individuals as needed.
• Provide staff with spending reports on request.
• Attend events and staff meetings when possible.
