Job summary

University Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a student assistant for the California DMV in Sacramento. The role supports the Special Funds Unit, Financial Services Branch, reconciling programs and preparing schedules, remittance advices, and journal entries.

The position is part-time, non-benefited, with flexible hours, requiring enrollment in six-semester units or nine quarter units as an undergraduate or four-semester/ six-quarter units for graduate students. Office-based in DMV headquarters.

Qualifications

• Must complete each term with minimum unit requirements for Undergraduate and Graduate student classifications.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Maintain consistent and regular attendance.
• Exercise good judgment and ability to work independently.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Word. Strong attention to detail and reliable.
• Must possess good organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Reconciling one or more programs of the Local Agency Collection Fund.
• Preparing claim schedules, remittance advices, journal entries, transaction requests, check requests, and maintain databases.
• Reviewing, analyzing, and reconciling program data to Oracle system to ensure revenue/deposits are properly accounted for.
• Processing stale-dated or undeliverable checks.
• Monitoring, investigating, and resolving errors posted by other departmental personnel.
• Processing suspense receipts and stop payment requests.
• Preparing transactions to allocate funds and correct or make adjustments.
