Job summary

The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Sacramento headquarters seeks a part-time Student Assistant in the Financial Services Branch, Accounts Receivable team to process credit card refunds, perform monthly reconciliations, and prepare correspondence.

This in-office role requires enrollment in eligible coursework and majors in Accounting or Business Administration; schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5 PM, up to 24 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in at least six semester units (undergrad) or four semester units (grad).
• Declared major must match the job posting (Accounting and/or Business Administration).
• Must be able to work in an in-office setting at DMV Sacramento headquarters.

Responsibilities

• Process credit card refunds and monthly reconciliations for AR accounts.
• Process cashier overages/shortages requested by field offices.
• Prepare written correspondence for reversals of discrepancy requests.
• Use Oracle AFS to post revenue corrections.
• Process check requests and post error card corrections to Series I terminals.
