Butterfly Effects in Portsmouth, VA seeks dedicated Child Interventionists/Behavior Technicians to support children with autism through ABA-based plans. Part-time, 12–20 hours weekly, Monday–Friday 3pm–7pm, with flexible scheduling.

You’ll implement plans under a BCBA, track progress, manage challenging behaviors, and collaborate with families. Requires HS diploma, RBT certification if applicable, and a driver’s license; laptop/tablet required for sessions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Registered Behavior Technician certification if already obtained is preferred.
• Passion for working with children and positive attitude is essential.
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with children and families.
• Previous experience with children is advantageous.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
• Tablet or laptop device required for sessions.

Responsibilities

• Implements individualized treatment plans under the direction of a BCBA.
• Observes, records, and reports on client progress daily.
• Manages challenging behaviors.
• Applies behavioral principles consistently in all interactions.
• Assists clients to acquire academic and/or life skills.
• Communicates professionally with parents, analysts, trainers, and clients.
• Functions as an active member of the treatment team.
• Completes daily paperwork and data collection in our online database.
• Participates in ongoing training programs to increase skills.
• Maintains client confidentiality and follows company procedures.
