Job summary

The City of Georgetown, Texas is seeking a Parks Maintenance Worker to supervise assigned staff and participate in maintaining the city’s parks, trails, and facilities. You will perform landscaping tasks, operate equipment, and support events while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Ideal candidates have at least a high school diploma and several years of park maintenance experience, with the ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of full-time landscaping or park maintenance experience.
• Any equivalent combination of experience, education or training.

Responsibilities

• Mows, edges grass, trims trees and shrubs, maintains green spaces and trails; prepares sports fields.
• Repairs and maintains facilities, doors, gates, fences, and performs painting.
• Cleans restrooms, pavilions, and other structures.
• Assists in playground construction and light projects.
• Performs rounds to inspect for damage or vandalism and carries out repairs.
• Conducts irrigation checks and repairs.
• Operates heavy machinery and light equipment.
• Supports special events by setup/teardown.
• Completes records as required by policy.
• Follows safety rules and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
