Job summary

The City of Galveston is seeking a Parks Maintenance Worker to perform grounds keeping, repairs, and facility upkeep at Seawolf Park and other city parks. Under general supervision, you will operate light equipment, perform electrical and plumbing tasks, and support park safety and guest services.

The role requires a high school diploma and at least two years in parks maintenance; a Texas driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Two years’ experience in parks facilities maintenance and repair operations.
• Possession of a valid Texas Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Maintains grounds around parks, recreational fields and buildings; mows grass, weeds, and fields.
• Operates light motorized vehicles and equipment.
• Inspects parks and facilities for safety and maintenance needs.
• Performs basic electrical and plumbing tasks related to facilities.
• Replaces or repairs damaged locks or doors; performs concrete repairs.
• Installs or repairs fences; cleans gutters and common areas.
• Completes daily reports and forms accurately.
• Supports maintenance across multiple parks as needed.
