Job summary

The City of Canton, Ohio's Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a Customer Service Representative to handle shelter reservations, program registrations, and front desk communications. You will supervise part-time staff and ensure smooth operations for rentals, events, and programs.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree (Bachelor's preferred); government or customer service experience preferred.
• Experience with financial management and recreational programming software desirable.
• Valid Ohio Operator's License required.
• Willingness to attend training to improve skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and supervise seasonal office staff (approximately 1-2 PT Employees).
• Proficiency with scheduling software and other park and recreation software programs.
• Customer service responsibilities including shelter reservations and program registrations.
• Cash controls and financial recordkeeping.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Ability and willingness to work weekends, evenings, and special events as schedule demands.
• Must pass background check, drug screening, and have a valid Ohio Driver’s License.
