Job summary

The City of Westminster, Maryland, is seeking two experienced Assistant Directors of Recreation & Parks to help lead the department's facilities, programs, events, and services.

Two positions will work with the Director and staff to manage operations, plan capital projects, supervise staff, administer budgets, and engage the community through programming and partnerships, with opportunities to grow across the department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Recreation or related field.
• Five–Seven years of progressively responsible related experience.
• Three–Five years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assist with management and oversight of recreation facilities, parks, and related assets.
• Help plan, develop, implement, and evaluate recreation programs and major events.
• Support capital improvement planning, project management, and budgeting.
• Assist with grant research, applications, compliance, documentation, and reporting.
• Supervise, hire, train, and evaluate staff; manage performance.
