Job summary

City of Westminster's Parks & Recreation Department is hiring for a part-time Summer Parks & Playgrounds Assistant. You will lead, teach, and supervise recreational activities for diverse age groups across parks, schools, and recreation centers, helping with events and facility rentals.

The role requires strong customer service, basic first aid skills, and the ability to lift and move equipment. Prior experience with children is desired, and a positive, enthusiastic attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be 17 years of age.
• Knowledge of safety principles and basic first aid.
• Experience with children is desirable.
• Ability to follow policies and provide good customer service.

Responsibilities

• Leads, teaches, and conducts diversified recreation activities at various facilities.
• Assists in planning community events and facility rentals; sets up equipment.
• Supervises programs of play activities for children and adults.
• Resolves program issues and suggests improvements.
• Maintains logs, calendars, and basic reports; performs light office duties.
• Maintains facilities and equipment; administers basic first aid when needed.
• Responds to patrons' needs and enforces safety rules.
