Job summary

Carroll County Government is seeking a Recreation Leader for Adaptive Recreation and Community Programs at the Charles Carroll Community Center in Westminster, MD. The role focuses on leading inclusive programs, administrative support, and coordinating facility use for community events.

The position requires an associate degree or equivalent, plus experience in recreation settings. Evening shifts, background checks, and driver eligibility are part of the role, with opportunities to develop

Qualifications

• Associate degree is required or two years of college in a related field.
• One or more years of related experience may substitute education for the minimum requirement.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative assistance to local volunteer recreation councils and attend meetings as needed.
• Maintain and organize program files, records, and documentation; compile monthly and annual reports.
• Secure and coordinate facility use for programs; collaborate with partners to ensure availability.
• Lead, develop, implement, and evaluate adaptive recreation programs and events.
• Recruit, train, coordinate, and evaluate program leaders, instructors, and volunteers.
• Conduct community outreach to promote recreation programs and build partnerships.
• Represent the Recreation Division at meetings and public events; assist with special events.
• Prepare and submit annual operating budgets and track expenses; seek grants where appropriate.
• Assist with operation and monitoring of the Charles Carroll Community Center.
