Job summary

The Northern Recreation and Leisure Services Division of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC), Department of Parks and Recreation, Prince George’s County, seeks three experienced Facility Directors to lead day-to-day operations of community recreation facilities at Berwyn Heights, Largo/Kettering/Perrywood, and South Bowie.

You will supervise staff, oversee rentals and budgets, develop programs, and ensure safe, welcoming facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
• Two years of professional facility-related experience, with one year in a supervisory role.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may total six years.
• Valid driver’s license; some roles may require additional licenses or certifications.
• Pass Commission medical exam if assigned.

Responsibilities

• Manage community centers and establish operating procedures.
• Respond to patron questions, complaints, and inquiries.
• Create and evaluate a comprehensive programming plan for classes, activities and events.
• Meet with citizens, community groups, schools and associations.
• Review and approve rental requests/agreements.
• Supervise staff, recruit/train intermittent personnel, and conduct evaluations.
• Monitor revenues and expenditures within the approved budget.
