Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (DNCR) is seeking a Maintenance/Construction Supervisor I to oversee facility upkeep, safety, and renovation projects at state parks and related sites. Responsibilities include inspecting facilities, coordinating trades, and managing crews and contractors.

The role requires strong knowledge of trades, ability to read blueprints, and experience in cost estimating.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of trades such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and/or auto mechanics.
• Experience interpreting building codes and regulations for repairs and renovations.
• Ability to read blueprints/structural specifications and estimate materials.

Responsibilities

• Develops and administers outside bid packages for projects.
• Acts as liaison with officials and regulatory agencies.
• Supervises staff and volunteers on projects.
• Provides record-keeping support and basic forms.
• Oversees routine construction and maintenance for facilities and equipment.
• Maintains stock control for tools, parts, and supplies.
