Job summary

North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (DNCR) is seeking a Maintenance/Construction Supervisor I for Falls Lake State Recreation Area. The role inspects facilities, oversees maintenance, and participates in master planning and cost estimation for renovations and repairs.

Ideal candidates have trade experience, ability to read blueprints, and capacity to manage teams and budgets. Position includes a sign-on bonus and a competitive recruitment range.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus three years of progressive experience in facility maintenance or construction, including journey-level experience in at least three trades.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Develops outside bid packages and reviews plan sheets from designers/contractors.
• Acts as liaison to local officials/regulatory agencies.
• Supervises and evaluates work of temporary and permanent staff and volunteers.
• Provides record-keeping support and basic operational forms.
• Hands-on technical supervision of maintenance and repairs for facilities and equipment.
• Maintains stock control for tools, parts, and supplies.
• Advises management on technical aspects of maintaining, replacing, or renovating equipment and facilities.
