Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Parking Services Representative to support cashiering, permit sales, and records management within Parking and Transportation Services on the Austin campus.

You will handle payments, conduct audits, prepare routine reports, and respond to complex policy questions from customers while supervising student cashiers and ensuring accurate cash drawers. This role requires reliable transportation and a strong service mindset.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or GED.
• Four years of cashier experience in a large-scale operation.
• Four years of experience with large-scale receipt, disbursement, and cash recording.
• Proficiency with personal computers and clerical functions.
• Experience in team service roles and excellent customer service.
• Experience completing reports, maintaining database records, and filing.
• Class C driver’s license and a current 3-year driving record; Texas license within 30 days of residency.

Responsibilities

• Complete departmental and university forms and reports.
• Sell permits and other parking-related items to customers.
• Accept and record payments for parking services.
• Verify permit authorization and identify stolen or altered permits.
• Communicate with campus departments via two-way radio and phone for auto assistance, boot verification, and security purposes.
• Drive a university vehicle to perform job duties and operate in garage, event, and surface operations.
• Maintain proficiency in departmental software systems and common office machines.
• Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and annual audits of permits and access cards.
• Compile periodic reports.
• Supervise students and new cashiers.
• Serve as cashier: receive cash, checks, or credit cards at windows, pre-pay gates, or lot entrances; maintain, balance, and report on a cash drawer bank.
• Provide continuous, exemplary customer service.
