Job summary

City of Grand Rapids seeks a Parking & Mobility Operations Manager to plan, coordinate, and oversee the City’s parking operations. You will lead facilities, on-street/off-street systems, shared mobility, and enforcement, ensuring safety, equity, efficiency and financial sustainability.

The role requires a bachelor's degree and several years of supervisory experience in parking/operations, with strong budget, contract, and staff management skills. On-site leadership in Grand Rapids is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field.
• Three years of progressively responsible experience in parking system administration or operations management.
• Alternative combination of education, training and experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate parking system field operations and staff.
• Manage vendor-operated shared mobility programs and EV carshare initiatives.
• Develop SOPs and work instructions for field operations.
• Assist in budgeting and revenue tracking for parking operations.
• Maintain records, reports, and incident investigations related to parking operations.
• Ensure safety standards and responsive customer service.
• Plan and evaluate teams including enforcement, dispatch, and events.
• Administer contracts and participate in RFPs; monitor contractor performance.
• Develop staff training to improve safety and service.
• Stay informed on trends in municipal parking and smart city tech.
