Job summary

SP+, a Metropolis Company, is seeking a Parking Enforcement Officer in Fairfax, VA. The role involves patrolling designated streets, lots and campuses to ensure compliance with parking policies and to provide friendly customer service.

You will issue citations or warnings, assist with parking equipment maintenance, and help collect meter revenues. Availability for second/third shifts and weekends may be required; a valid driver’s license is needed. Pay rate is $20 per hour.

Qualifications

• Independent judgment and high level of customer service required.
• Geography knowledge of enforcement area.
• Hazards and safety precautions knowledge.
• Ability to operate a motorized vehicle or bicycle.
• Ability to understand and apply parking regulations.
• Ability to interact with others in a courteous and tactful manner.
• Walk for extended periods.
• Work in all weather conditions.
• Must be 18 years of age or older at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Monitor designated streets, lots, garages, or campus to ensure compliance with parking policies.
• Provide customer service by answering questions regarding directions, events, building locations and parking policies.
• Issue citations and warnings for non-compliance; impound, boot or relocate vehicles as directed.
• Assist maintenance staff with parking equipment and facility upkeep and maintenance.
• Assist in the collection and security of all monies received through meters and pay stations.
• Assist event staff with parking for events and related duties.
• Assist with permit sales during peak seasons (data entry, mailings, frontline service).
• Other related duties as assigned.
