Job summary

City of Indianapolis and Marion County seeks an Assistant Manager to lead the Division of Parks and Recreation. You will supervise Senior Park Managers, guide division staff, and ensure delivery of municipal recreation services across centers, pools, and parks.

You will influence policy, oversee training programs, and participate in program planning and budget analysis while communicating department mission and standards to managers and staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and eight years of managerial experience in Recreation or related field.
• Strong working knowledge of general philosophies in the Park and Recreation field.
• Ability to learn computer applications for purchasing, budgeting, program registration, facility reservations.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; customer service oriented.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Senior Park Managers and support staff.
• Develop, monitor, and ensure compliance of department policy and procedures.
• Manage Indy Stat data, standards of service delivery, and maintenance of properties.
• Recruit, hire, and manage the citywide Day Camp, Playground and Aquatic program.
• Assist in budget reconciliation and program planning using statistical data.
