Job summary

City of Indianapolis is seeking a Parks Program Supervisor to oversee daily supervision of sports, programs, services, and facilities at assigned park locations. You will manage recreational programming and service delivery under Department of Parks and Recreation policies.

Independent judgment may be used when deciding on programs, handling discipline, emergencies, and dealing with the public. Reports to the Park Manager and collaborates with staff to maintain safe, welcoming greenspaces.

Qualifications

• Must be self-motivated and able to follow both verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work productively under general supervision.
• Must be able to work varied hours including weekends, evenings and holidays.
• CPR and First Aid Certification required; Indiana Public Passengers Chauffeurs License; NYSCA Clinician Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assists in development, planning, directing, implementation and coordinating a wide variety of recreational events.
• Follows established policies and procedures.
• Completes reports, inspections, and evaluations per guidelines; uses software and tech platforms to organize, document, track and monitor work (ActiveNet, Microsoft Office, InforPS, Peoplesoft, WebEx).
• Delivers excellent customer service to internal and external customers and maintains professional rapport.
• Initiates new sports, aquatics, and recreation programs.
• Supports customers while participating in activities and plans.
• Schedules classes and assists in planning.
• Supervises and coordinates recreational programs.
• Responsible for collecting and depositing park funds; may fill out reports.
