Job summary

City of Indianapolis is seeking a dedicated supervisor to oversee daily sports, programs, services, and facility operations at assigned park locations. The role includes managing recreational programming, service delivery, and adherence to department rules and safety standards.

The position requires coordination of events, strong customer service, and the ability to work varied hours, including weekends and evenings.

Qualifications

Must be self-motivated and able to coordinate multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Ability to follow established policies and procedures and supervise participants.
Must be able to obtain officials certification for recreation sports and crafts; CPR/First Aid preferred.

Responsibilities

Assists in development, planning, directing, implementation and coordinating a wide variety of recreational events.
Follows established policies and procedures.
Completes reports, inspections, and evaluations based on established guidelines using software and technology platforms.
Delivers excellent customer service to internal and external customers and maintains professional rapport with park users.
Initiates new sports, aquatics, and recreation programs.
Schedules classes and assists in planning.
Supervises and coordinates recreational programs.
Responsible for handling park funds; deposits and reporting as required.
Attends meetings or training sessions as required.
Supervises use of supplies, equipment, and facilities.
Sets up and breaks down for activities and events.
Enforces rules and regulations.
Maintains cleanliness and appearance of work site and park grounds.
