Job summary

The City of Indianapolis and Marion County through Indy Parks seeks a dedicated supervisor to oversee daily sports, programs, services, and facilities at assigned park locations. The role ensures smooth delivery of recreational activities, safety, and compliance with department rules and regulations, reporting to the Park Manager.

Key duties include planning events, coordinating staff, managing equipment and facilities, delivering top-tier customer service, and expanding program offerings.

Qualifications

• Must be self-motivated.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work varied work schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• General knowledge of sports, recreational games and arts and crafts.
• Ability to obtain officials certification for recreation sports and crafts.
• Licenses/Certifications Required: CPR and First Aid Certificate, Indiana Public Passengers Chauffeurs License, NYSCA Clinician Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assists in development, planning, directing, implementation and coordinating a wide variety of recreational events.
• Follows established policies and procedures.
• Completes reports, inspections, and evaluations based on established guidelines.
• Delivers excellent customer service to internal and external customers and established a professional rapport with all park users.
• Initiates new sports, aquatics, and recreation programs.
• Supervises and coordinates recreational programs.
• Opens and closes the facility and follows proper security measures.
• Maintains the facility and park grounds in an attractive manner.
