Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources is seeking a Maintenance/Construction Technician II for the Jordan Lake State Recreation Area in Pittsboro, NC. The role performs custodial, grounds, and basic mechanical tasks to maintain park facilities and equipment.

Typical duties include trades work, equipment operation, record-keeping, and supporting special projects, with a schedule that may include evenings or weekends. A sign-on bonus is offered for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated work experience in at least two trades (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, auto mechanics).
• Grounds maintenance/landscaping experience preferred.
• Experience maintaining buildings, facilities, and grounds equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform semi-skilled trades tasks in plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC or auto mechanics.
• Operate large and small equipment and tools.
• Purchase resources following state policies and procedures.
