Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (DNCR) seeks a Maintenance/Construction Technician II for the State Parks system at Jordan Lake. You will perform hands-on maintenance of grounds, buildings, and equipment, including custodial duties and trail work, with opportunities to supervise volunteers on special projects.

Typical schedule is Mon–Fri 7:00–4:00, with possible evenings or weekends. Requires working outdoors in varied conditions and a valid US driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1 year in assigned trades.
• Experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or auto mechanics.
• Valid US driver’s license and ability to obtain others as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform semi-skilled tasks in trades such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or auto mechanics.
• Operate large and small equipment and tools.
• Purchase resources per state policies and maintain records.
• Assist in housekeeping and maintain facilities.
